#059: Stacey Feinberg on empowering female and minority entrepreneurs, impact investing, and living with passion, curiosity, wonder, and gratitude
Stacey is an investor, philanthropist, advisor, and producer who is passionate about empowering female and minority entrepreneurs.
After college, Stacey became a pioneer in the Sports and Entertainment Law space. Beyond negotiating contracts, she also helped manage every aspect of the lives and careers of over 300 clients, including Larry Bird, Larry King, Joe Montana, and New Kids On The Block. In 1998, she formed JLF Asset Management with her now ex-husband. With $1B in assets, they were named to Barron’s 2007 list of top 30 hedge funds in the world. In 2008, Stacey pivoted to Pre IPO investing. Some of her early stage investments include Uber, Facebook, Alibaba, Zico Water, and Michael Kors. Now she is committed to supporting women in launching and scaling their businesses. She’s also the producer of a Broadway play that has been nominated for 15 Tony awards including Best Musical, a fun story which we get into.
We had such an incredible conversation around following the breadcrumbs, leading with curiosity, networking, impact investing, mindset, life philosophies and everything in between. I catch myself saying this a lot, but this was truly one of my absolute favorite episodes, and you’re about to see why.
