#063: Sarah Clement on being a Death Doula, guiding over 500 people through the dying process over 10 years
Sarah is a Death Doula with over a decade of experience caring for the dying.
Sarah began studying hospice and palliative care while in nursing school and has since served those with advanced illness through the dying process as a private caregiver, an ER nurse, and as a traveling hospice nurse.
Sarah believes that the End-of-Life Doula role, in addition to hospice services, has the power to create a more peaceful and empowered end-of-life experience for the dying and their families. She uses her knowledge of the dying process to walk the dying & their loved ones through the unknown with education, reassurance, practical support and loving presence. With a heart-centered approach, she guides the dying to embracing death as the ultimate ceremony of Life using holistic techniques, sound & love. She’s guided over 500 people through the process.
We talked about the dying process, what it can teach us about living, and some crazy stories of end of life experiences...
